I knew from the start that this Ankony Carriage House wedding would not only be spectacular but that it would also be genuine, heartfelt and a quintessential Hudson Valley luxury wedding.
The day began at The Dutchess which calls itself a secret experience in the Hudson Valley. It is hidden off the road, and is a beautiful collection of stone houses, old barns and beautifully manicured lawns and trees. All a perfect setting for a rehearsal dinner and getting ready.
The wedding ceremony and wedding reception was held at Creed Ankony Farm in Rhinebeck, NY. What a truly spectacular setting for a wedding. There is a carriage house that sits atop a long view to the Hudson River.
Haley and Spencer have a love that is a river that runs deeply, artfully and unexpectedly. As they day grew long, this love became more evident, in the small gestures, the momentary glances at each other, the light in their eyes. When Spencer took the stage to sing a love song he wrote to his bride, I felt goosebumps. It was almost surreal. A wedding that turned into a very private, intimate sharing of love in an amazing vocal extravaganza. The party played on, the sun set, the food was ate and really, as a wedding photographer, I felt this is it. This is why I do what I do.
This was an amazing wedding event, spectacularly designed by Lydia Bailey of Charmed Places.
