Project wedding just sent me this badge to post on the blog for having a perfect 5 star rating… so, not having anything else to post today, I thought I would go ahead and post it.
A big shout out to all of my brides who have taken the time out of their schedules to post a review of my wedding photography work!
It is a wonderful feeling to know that you were all so happy.
I’ll let you in on a little secret.
When the wedding day is over…
…and I pack up my car and head home…
…and I transfer your images from the CF cards to my main computer drive and to my backup drive…
…and after I spend hours working on your images…
what you don’t know is how much those images affect me.
I get to know everyone so intimately.
It may sound crazy, I know.
But I work on hundreds of images. And they are all of you, your family, your friends…
…and, the funny thing is…
…I get to know little things about you and your wedding day – things you may not even know yet!
Like, what was Uncle Milt doing at the bar. Did you know Cousin Mimi’s dress split on the dance floor? Your friend Kara was in the bathroom crying because she doesn’t know if she’ll ever be as happy as you since you found the perfect life partner. And so on.
When I deliver your online gallery, I know you will see images that will startle you.
Images that make you laugh.
Images that make you cry.
And, I know that you will see some of your day from my perspective…
…And folks, that is why who you choose as your photographer is so important. That person, that photographer, is interpreting your day – one of the most important days of your life. Who you choose matters.
Personally, I think liking your photographer matters.
I know I like to like, to love, my clients.
I like to think that maybe they’ll stay in touch. I know most won’t. But it makes me happy to think that maybe they will. I love it when I meet with a potential client and think to myself, this person could be my friend. We might see some of the world the same way.
I think that about most of the couples I worked with this past year.
I think it about the couples I have booked for 2010.
So, this was just a long winded way to say THANK YOU to the couples that gave me positive feedback, who let me know that the images I created made their day! It really does matter.
