Megan and Jon were supposed to get married in the Berkshires. But fate dealt them a different hand. Their previous vendor had… gone out of business. So, in less than a couple of weeks, everything had to be redone. Jon’s dad suggested his place of work; the breath-taking Montgomery Place in Annandale-on-Hudson, here in the Hudson Valley. So Jon’s dad, friends, co-workers, Megan’s brothers, set forth to move the whole shindig from the Berkshires to the historic site, overlooking the Hudson River.
And what a job they did!
A tent set out on the great lawn in front of the creamy classical revival mansion designed by Alexander Jackson Davis. 434 acres of gardens, apple trees, farmland – the lush landscape above the mighty Hudson River, the late afternoon sun that beat out the threatening rain storm.
Baskets of apples. Autumn colored leaves. Twinkling lights. Pumpkins. A fantastic bluegrass band ~ The Minivans…
And of course, an absolutely lovely couple. How can I say it? They were gracious under extraordinary pressure. Happy, surrounded by love and the kinship of family and friends.
Enjoy their photos!
