Call it kismet. Call it luck. Call me lucky.

I got a call from Abigail and Chris a few short weeks before their wedding day. Their photographer had double booked and they were without a photographer for their wedding day. I was going on a needed family vacation. One week out of the summer. Time to regroup after so many weddings. But after a short conversation with Chris on the phone, I knew I had to come back a day early.

I am so glad I did. Abby and Chris are a special couple. Lovely, warm, fun to be with.

Keila + Fred } Wedding ~ The Grandview ~ Poughkeepsie, NY

Keila + Fred got married on one of the hottest days of the year. Their beautiful outdoor wedding overlooked the sultry Hudson River as family and friends gathered to give their blessing. The wedding was a blend of western traditions and Mexican traditions. It was crazy-fun! Couples don’t come sweeter than Keila + Fred. I wish them all the happiness in the world.

Music was provided by a wonderful mariachi band, great food served up by the amazing Grandview in Poughkeepsie. The Grandview is really a top-notch act. A fantastic staff even when the temps under the tent rose above 95 degrees!

Sarah + Ethan } Wedding ~ Stone Tavern Farm ~ Roxbury, NY ~ Sneak Peek

Sarah + Ethan got married on a lovely overcast day (it didn’t rain!!!) in the hills of the Catskills at the wonderful Stone Tavern Farm in Roxbury, New York. Their wedding was atop a hill overlooking the horse paddocks, a friendly goat, and a large barn which was decorated with hay bales and lights for their reception later that day. What can I say about Ethan and Sarah? They shared one of the most memorable weddings of the season with me. Thank you. Enjoy their sneak peek!

Kelly + John } Wedding ~ Twin Lakes Resort ~ Hurley, New York

Kelly + John got married in June and celebrated at the Twin Lakes Resort in Hurley, New York. The day was a hot one, but nothing could erase the permanent smiles on Kelly and John’s faces. I think you’ll be able to see by the photos what a good time everyone had. Their dog who has two different color eyes, was dressed up for formals! Kelly’s family did the flowers. Julia and Justin married on a warm August day in Rock Tavern, New York surrounded by family and friends. They celebrated their wedding reception at the beautiful Dutchess Manor House overlooking the Hudson River in Beacon, NY. This wedding may get the dance prize of the season as the floor was packed and hopping with everyone: Grandma to babies. I had a great time.

Jamie + Sam got married on a gorgeous day at Hunter Mountain this month. Both avid skiers, somehow they convinced me that I too could venture up the mountain on a ski lift even though I am none too fond of heights. But I did it. Had a blast! Loved the entire day spent with a fun, loving and gracious couple.

Lisa + Chris } Engagement Photo Session ~ New York City

I spent a couple of hours with Lisa and Chris during rush hour in Grand Central Station shooting their engagement session.

Wow. Difficult to say the least.

I told Lisa and Chris at the start of the session, you and I are the only people in the world right now. And boy is it true. Millions of people rushed by, destination in mind, ignoring this beautiful couple and one sweaty photographer. Lisa and Chris are getting married in September at the Marros in Rye, New York. They are going with a little vintage feel at their wedding so we decided to try a little vintage New York with their engagement session, shooting at Grand Central Station, the New York Public Library and Bryant Park.

Katherine + Brian } Wedding ~ Full Moon Resort, Big Indian, NY

I drove deep into the woods of the Catskills to photograph Katherine and Brian’s beautiful wedding at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, New York. A cloudy, humid day could not dampen the joy, love and deep admiration that this couple’s family and friends showed as Katherine and Brian said their vows.

A stunning first dance (who would have expected less since Katherine is a dancer!), touching parent dances, a game where guests gave their marital advice, cake cutting, and then an all out after-party with a band that included Brian on drums, his brother doing vocals and his dad on saxophone.
