Jamie and Sam.
Fun. Smart. Loving. A great couple. And, as I wrap this wedding season up, I realize one of my favorite weddings of the year. Sometimes people ask me, what was your favorite wedding? I think the answer lies in what makes a wedding great. It starts with a happy couple. One that goes into the day relaxed. I’m not saying they’re not nervous. Of course they are. But they aren’t worried about all of the details. They’re ready to get married, love, cry, laugh… in short, live the day for the day and have fun. Jamie and Sam were one of these couples.
Jamie got ready at the beautiful Windham Spa in Windham, NY. Everything about this place (from a photographer’s viewpoint) was great for pictures. Good light and enough room. It makes such a difference to have a GREAT getting ready space. From there, the girls piled into a limo which took them to Jewett, New York where Jamie’s mom and dad have an incredible mountain retreat with an amazing (did I say amazing!) view of the mountains.
I then went with the bridal party to Hunter Mountain where we took a ski lift to the top. My first time on a ski lift, but Jamie and Sam were pros. They were so sweet. They kept looking back at Ivy and I to make sure we were okay.
The reception was at the Copper Tree Restaurant at Hunter Mountain Lodge. It was beautiful. There is literally a huge copper tree in the middle of the room with netting and lights making it wonderful for photos. It’s definitely a great place for a wedding reception.
Enjoy!
