{ The Turnquists } Hudson, NY ~ Portrait and Wedding Photography

Meet the Turnquists.  Rebecca & Jesse Turnquist of Turnquist Photography in Hudson, NY asked me to photograph them.  They run a successful Columbia County wedding photography studio.  It is both extremely flattering to be asked to photograph another photographer as well as slightly intimidating.  But Rebecca & Jesse are so easy going, we just had a lot of fun sharing wedding stories while roaming the always interesting alleys and industrial decay that make Hudson such a unique destination.

Enjoy a little sneak peek of the session.

The Marist Brothers { Hudson Valley Portrait Photographer }

When Kathy from Erbach Communications Group contacted me to see if I was available for a commercial job to photograph the Marist Brothers, I thought why not?

I had no idea what to expect.

What I found was a wonderful group of gentlemen, funny and camera shy.

They run some incredible youth programs and summer camps on their beautiful grounds in Esopus, New York.  Check them out at their website.

Ari Meisel + Triathlete Magazine { Hudson Valley Portrait Photographer }

When I got a call from Lisa at Triathlete Magazine asking me to photograph triathlete, Ari Meisel, I said yes. Of course, I knew nothing about photographing athletes. So in the dead of winter, I drove over to New Paltz to meet Ari. They were doing a piece about athletes overcoming chronic illness to win Triathlons and Ari was one of the winning athletes to be featured. He will be doing the Ironman France this June. Good luck Ari!

Lisa + Iggy { Hudson Valley Portrait Photographer }

When my friend Lisa asked me to photographer her with her dog, Iggy, I was a little apprehensive.  You see, she is the premiere pet photographer here in the Hudson Valley and what do I know about photographing dogs?!

So Lisa and I walked around the Village of Rhinebeck, with Iggy pulling us along – and I do mean pulling.  We had a great time.

If you want to see the work of a REAL pet photographer, check out Printz Photography.  Her work is just stunning.  She also runs an amazing organization called HeARTs Speak whose mission is “to unite the individual efforts of animal artists and animal rescues into collective action for social change.”

In the meantime, enjoy the photos.
